Love is a Many Splendored Thing

I’ve haven’t sang for a year, so it’s been hard to pick up the microphone again after so long. It feels weird and I wasn’t sure if my voice was still there, but I wanted to record a new song to commemorate ten years since my mum’s passing. I can’t believe it’s been that long […]

Sound Limiters – Read this before booking your venue

One thing I dread as a singer is having to perform at venues with sound limiting restrictions. It’s like asking Lewis Hamilton to qualify, but to look out for speed cameras. After last night’s wedding, I felt the need to raise awareness so you know what to expect if you’re told about them when booking […]

Engelbert Tribute – Les Bicyclettes de Belsize

Engelbert Tribute

Here’s another of my Engelbert tributes. Les Bicyclettes de Belsize.

I love singing Engelbert songs in his style. As odd as it sounds, I have to almost do a pub singer impression to try and capture his phrasing, although there was nothing pub singer about his incredible voice. Singing Engelbert makes me appreciate how much of an amazing talent he has, even if he was given a ridiculous name and not as much appreciation as he deserves.

New Promo Video Just thought I’d share this one. I hope it sounds and looks okay… apart from the bits that I’m on, of course 😉 I hope this video is a good representation of my crooner legends tribute show. Since I started singing I’ve always wanted to try and represent them in the best way possible. […]

Girl From Ipanema

My version of the Jobim classic. I hope it sounds okay. Thanks for listening xx “Garota de Ipanema” (“The Girl from Ipanema“) is a Brazilian bossa nova jazz song. It was a worldwide hit in the mid-1960s and won a Grammy for Record of the Year in 1965. It was written in 1962, with music by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Portuguese […]

The Last Waltz

A bit of nostalgia today with my version of Engelbert’s ‘The Last Waltz’. This is a song that reminds me of Sunday afternoons when Mum would put a bit of Engelbert on while cooking the Sunday roast. It’s easy to dismiss Engelbert as cheesy kitsch because of his ridiculous stage name and schlager-style schmaltz, but Gerry Dorsey has an […]
